2007 Prom Boutique

The 3rd Annual Prom Boutique (dress give-away) was held April 14-15, 2007 at the Oregon Convention Center and was a complete success! Hundreds of volunteers worked hard to create a classy and professional gathering for young ladies. Over 2,300 gowns were collected and given to high school women who might otherwise have been unable to attend their proms. Below are some of the comments we received:

"My daughter was the recipient of a lovely formal dress at your event at the Convention Center today. I cannot thank Abby's Closet enough for this wonderful gift for my daughter. She enjoyed the experience so much and is so pleased with the dress she got. Everyone involved was unfailingly kind and made it a memorable day for my daughter. The volunteers in the salon area were especially nice and extremely helpful for my hard to fit daughter. You are doing a wonderful thing for these young ladies. I hope that you know that you make a very real difference for them."

"Thank you so much Abby. I was worried I was going to look fat, and now I feel so pretty. And I feel better about myself."

"THIS PLACE RULES BIG TIME. LOVE IT!!!"

"Thank you so much!! I cannot understand how someone can be so nice! I found the dress I dreamed about. Thank you."

"I was afraid I wouldn’t find a dress in my size. So, I was almost in tears when I found a beautiful pale yellow gown that actually fit! Thank you so much! This is a dream come true!"

"Wow! The helpers were very professional. The service and friendliness made this an extra special occasion! You guys are amazing! This is an awesome organization. Keep doing it. It’s a great blessing! Thanks."

"To all the Abby’s Closet workers and partners: thank you so much for doing such a great thing for our community. Thanx to you many, many young women can have their dreams about prom realized. I’m so grateful that my niece and all these other ladies will not be held back from their big night just because of cost. You’re doing a great thing here. Keep it up. You are appreciated."

We are already making plans for next year. Please be sure to let us know if you have any thoughts or suggestions for making this program bigger and better. Thank you, again, for your help and support in helping young women’s prom dreams come true.
